I know they reserve the right to edit, but I was surprised to realize the extent and the content. I've highlighted edits to my letter in the post below. I didn't notice at first. What they did took a lot away from the letter. That Mark Warner was the deciding vote for Obamacare is something we should know. The fact that my (and my husband's) former employer is contributing $1000 per year for each of us - my husband and me - for a new health care plan is a pertinent point. And why edit out "Ed" in the last sentence? Makes him sound like a less serious candidate, I think...... "We need to elect Ed Gillespie on November 4th" versus "We need to elect Gillespie on November 4th. " A bit of a difference, I do believe.
Just when I thought the new editorial page editor was making some really positive changes... I think I need to call him, after the election.
