It appears, as I watch just before I go to bed for the night, that the House has passed ObamaCare on a vote of 219-212. Valiant Republicans are trying, as a last-ditch effort, to rally pro-life Democrats, as there doesn't seem to be enough fiscally responsible - 34 is pretty darn good - or truly democratic Democrats to be able to stop this train wreck of a bill.
This IS a sad day. Health care reform is being voted upon and passed without any concern for cost reduction, increased competition or any other meaningful provisions that would truly reform our health care system without passing on a humongous financial burden to future generations.
Al Sharpton is on Fox News as I write this, telling us why it's a good thing that it passed. I'm switching back to C-SPAN right now! Oh, guess what? There are a lot of not-that-smart people on C-SPAN, too, but I think not as bad as Al.
I see Charlie Wrangle standing there all by himself, trying to flag down some of his fellow congressmen to chat with and enjoy some comraderie. Wonder why he isn't totally surrounded . . . given his former position and all . . .? Hmmmmm . . . . .
Reconciliation Bill now being voted on. Sure to pass . . . . More later.
