If you read Tom's newsletters and articles, he is, beyond any doubt, the most frugal, yet most accomplished member of the House. He brags about underspending his Member Representation Allowance (expense budget) last year and wanting to limit future increases. And he gets so much done! Yet I received still ANOTHER mailing from him yesterday, describing his valiant efforts to save the D-Day Memorial and fight for our veterans. There is nothing informative in it - it is pure campaign hype - yet just under the return address are the words, "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense." Thank you, Tom, for watching over our tax dollars so closely. Congressman Goode always turned back a large chunk of his MRA; he just never bragged about it; he thought he was just doing his job.
November just can't come soon enough, can it?
