Are you among the lucky voters who received Congressman Perriello's latest taxpayer-paid campaign piece? The one quoting a headline from The Daily Progress, "Perriello Wins High Marks in Frugality?" Did you, like I, think immediately that he was claiming to be something of a deficit hawk? Less informed and less involved voters will think just that, you know . . . "Wow, he's not a big spender at all." Whereas if they kept reading, they would see it was his expense budget where he was frugal in '09. That's after our illustrious representatives voted themselves huge increases - $100-200,000 - in those budgets (Member Representation Allowances).
Did you know that Congressman Goode ALWAYS under-spent his budget (MRA) and by much more than Tom? Probably not, because he didn't spend our tax dollars to tell us about it.
Wouldn't you have preferred that Tom had just gone ahead and blown his entire MRA, but voted NO on the Stimulus, CAP and Trade and ObamaCare? I sure would.
