Perriello Openly Disingenuous or Downright Deceitful?

Disingenuous, deceitful, dishonest or hypocritical - which one?  You be the judge.  Following is a direct quote from Congressman Perriello in a letter to my husband and me:

Congress first passed legislation in 2008 creating the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), a record $700 billion bailout. At the time, I was not yet a Member of Congress and did not vote on the legislation, but I firmly opposed the bailout. In January 2009, I voted to block the second $350 billion in bailout money to Wall Street because of concerns that the money has been misused. We should not be rewarding failure and fraud with our taxpayer dollars.”

Please note, he voted to “block” the second $350 billion.  The fact is that vote was meaningless.  The second $350 billion only needed approval from one chamber to pass and Obama chose the Senate, where it passed.  The House vote was held purely for show, so Nancy Pelosi could allow Democrats from conservative districts – like Perriello - to “vote” against it and pretend they were fiscally responsible.

Congressman Perriello demonstrates, once again, that he believes his constituents are ignorant and uninformed.  Is that how he is counting on being re-elected?
