If you weren't there last night and if you don't subscribe to the Roanoke Times - I'm one of only two people I know who still does - you probably missed the article on Perriello's performance. The article describes the many concerns on the minds of the attendees, including the run-away spending and the latest $26 billion "Stimulus, Jr." Bill - the Education Jobs and Medicaid Assistance Act, or, as House Minority Leader John Boehner calls it, Cash for Flunkers Act.
Perriello's own words, as quoted in the RT, "This bill prevents a very costly tax hike in an already bad economy." Yes, you read it right. They're spending money out of Washington to save us taxes here in Virginia. I wonder where the Washington money comes from?
And, if our congressman is concerned about raising taxes in a bad economy, I guess we can assume he'll surely vote to keep the "Bush Tax Cuts" in effect? I guess I can't really assume that, can you?
