The Constitution

Believe it or not . . . this cartoon was on a Roanoke Times blog.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the caption:
"This is an editorial cartoon that ran in The Roanoke Times on Feb. 5, 1936, during the era of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal — which some contended expanded the federal government into areas the constitution didn’t intend."

And then I saw the parenthetical comment:  (Some still contend this, of course.)
