Evelyn Kowalchuck, R.I.P.

Evelyn was an American hero who risked her life evacuating the wounded from the beaches of Normandy following the D-Day invasion and continued giving of herself throughout her life.  She died peacefully at her home on Smith Mountain Lake yesterday at 3:30 at age 93.  Her son, Peter, was with her at the time.
