I'm sure you've heard that President Obama is giving back 5% of his salary to share in the pain of sequester and that Defense Secretary Hagel is also making a symbolic gesture. I just realized how serious this whole ordeal really is when I read the paper this morning. I'm quoting the Associated Press here:
"On Monday, the White House said 480 workers on the president's budget staff had been notified they may have to take days off without pay." (Emphasis mine.)
Did you get that? I had to read it twice to have it sink in... There are 480 people employed to develop a budget for the president and he doesn't have one!
Reminder: Sequester requires $85 Billion in Washington-style "cuts" from almost $4 Trillion in projected spending.
